FSU Campus - Happy Holidays from the PTA - Technology Update
Dear Parents/Guardians,
The PTA would like to wish every Charter family a very happy Holiday Season and a safe New Year! We also wanted to update you on our school-wide technology initiatives. We have completed our 1st phase of our technology initiative for every classroom to be equipped with technology except for only 6 remaining classrooms. Each classroom was equipped with an overhead mounted projector, document scanner and video\dvd player for system integration. This greatly enhanced the teaching experience for our students and integrated our school-wide news program with our new technology in each classroom. It also eliminated the need for TVs in each classroom and provided more educational space for everyone. The proposed quotes from 3 vendors were over $4,830 per classroom and the PTA negotiated and obtained the technology for $2,500 per classroom. The PTA saved over $42,000 in donations and installation as Tirone Electric and the Morgan\Cilli family donated all installation services and time to the school. Tirone Electric provided equipment quotes for 1/2 the cost of all competitors. What an achievement for our 1st year.
Technology donations from parents are allocated specifically for technology purposes. Corporate sponsorships are obtained to offset the costs of technology along with many other school activities. We have several new initiatives on the way to help raise funds for technology, one of which can be found here. You will also receive a promotional card sent home with your child and 5% of all purchases go directly to technology. The 5% donation applies to the special promotion or any item that is purchased. Please bring the promotional card when you visit the Showroom or reference the FSU2012 code for any purchase. All proceeds from this fundraiser will support our technology initiatives as we work toward completing the last 2 classrooms with the same technology package as the other classrooms (a projector, scanner and player). We would also like to purchase additional mimios to install in the classrooms. We have other expansions being considered that will further enhance your child's learning experience and we look forward to your input and support!
