2014-2015 PTA Reflections Contest

“The world would be a better place if…”

Designed to enhance rather than replace a quality arts education, the PTA® Reflections Program℠ provides opportunities for students to express themselves and to receive positive recognition for their artistic efforts. PTA believes all children deserve a quality arts education and encourages students to pursue artistic expression through participation in its annual arts Reflections Program. The program offers students the opportunity to create works of art for fun and recognition. Students can participate by entering a unique piece in the categories of dance choreography, literature, musical composition, photography, and the visual arts (which includes art forms such as drawing, painting, print making, and collage).

Dear Parents,

Lights, Camera, Action! Everyone has a favorite Hollywood star they relate to – an actor or actress who inspires, has given the performance of a lifetime, or made an unforgettable walk down the red carpet. Yet the stars that we can relate to the most are the ones that are usually the most overlooked: the ones in our schools and classrooms. Teachers and non-instructional school staff can have a profound impact on how we view the world. They are, in fact, some of the most respected and trusted individuals in our community. However, with increasing challenges, such as growing classroom sizes and dramatic budget cuts, the already herculean task of teaching today’s students and working as support staff is increasingly more difficult and challenging. They truly are performing every single day and aren’t getting the awards they deserve. They are the STARS of our school!
