Dear Parent/Guardian:

There have been recent cases of influenza like illness at our school. The District has measures in place for managing this type of occurrence. If your child shows any signs of the flu, please contact your health care provider.

Please make daily efforts to keep your children healthy by protecting their immune systems – ensuring that they get adequate rest at night and eating a well-balanced diet. While we, at the school, are doing our part to maintain a healthy school environment, the best defense against influenza starts at home.

Here are some basic prevention steps:

- Wash hands often with soap and water and/or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer…

- Cover coughs and sneezes with tissues and discard immediately. Use the upper sleeve of a shirt or even a covered elbow area, if necessary when sneezing or coughing…

- Know the symptoms of the flu…keep sick children at home and do not send them to school if they are exhibiting flulike symptoms.

Your child must be fever free without the use of fever reducing medications before he/she returns to school.

Planning for what to do when children are sick is also important. Despite our best efforts, there are times when children will get sick. Children need to rest at home when they are ill. Keeping children at home will also help to reduce the spread of infection to students and teachers.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call us.

Parents picking up their child in the pm car-line are requested to write the child’s name in dark marker on the car-line windshield hanger. The name on the windshield hanger may have faded from the sun. Please re-write the name so it is easier for staff and volunteers to read if it has faded.

Please write the child’s first and last name as well as the grade.

This information clearly written on the car-line hanger makes things easier for staff in the carline.

Drivers are requested to circle a 2nd time in the carline if the child is not present (yet) when the car approaches the loading area.

Please do not text while in our car line loading area.

Thank you,

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are requesting donations of pre-packaged snacks. If you would like to donate a box of individually packaged bags of pretzels, goldfish crackers, fruit-gummy snacks, etc. we would greatly appreciate it! Please drop off the snacks in the front office.

Thank you so much for your assistance!

Dear Parent or Guardian:

Unfortunately, we have been informed about several cases of Head Lice in our school. Eggs hatch in a week and are spread by direct contact with an infected person, and by indirect contact with infested personal articles such as combs, brushes and clothing. The period of communicability is as long as lice or eggs remain alive on the infested person or in clothing.

Students need to be excluded from school until they have been satisfactory treated and there are NO NITS found in the hair.

We are asking that you check your child every day in order to prevent further spreading.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call the front office.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
